Manufacturing Engineering Technician
GPMS International is looking for an experienced manufacturing engineering technician to take responsibility for product configuration and testing of our proprietary electronics equipment. This person will work alongside the engineering, production, and quality teams to verify products are functional at the component level, built to the engineering drawings, and tested to verify kit performance prior to shipment. Other responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining manufacturing/test jigs, writing and maintaining work instructions, and assisting the R&D team with prototype development. The person in this role will provide technical assistance and training during the design and launch of manufacturing processes.
A successful candidate will have knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting at the component level, and excellent mechanical assembly skills. Experience with mechanical and electrical drawing software and product engineering strongly preferred. While an understanding of aviation technology and electronics is helpful, being motivated to learn new processes and having strong analytical and electronics troubleshooting skills are most important. Flexibility, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail are essential in this role.

Responsibilities
- Load software and firmware to sensors / modems
- Perform system test to ensure functionality
- Troubleshoot manufacturing / assembly errors to determine root cause, implement corrective actions, and optimize processes to continuously improve quality
- Track and maintain work orders through load / test process and communicate status to others in the organization
- Inspect machined components / assemblies
- Support development of enhanced performance testing
- Contribute to product and process improvements
- Design, build, and maintain test fixtures and manufacturing jigs
- Develop manufacturing process documentation for repeatable, compliant build/test
- Perform drawing revisions and produce new drawings as needed
Requirements:
- AS/BA/BS degree in Engineering (or 5+ years of experience in a technical role)
- Working knowledge of basic electrical circuits and systems.
- Excellent organizational, teamwork, and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
- Must have strong analytical and advanced math skills with strong attention to detail
- Must enjoy the entrepreneurial atmosphere of a small, fast growing company
- Experience supporting ISO9001/AS9100 certification is a plus
- Experience drafting engineering drawings is a plus
Location:
This position is based out of our headquarters in Waterbury, VT with some flexibility for remote work.
Compensation:
Compensation plan will include an annual salary within the range of $60000 - $75000 and full benefits. Overall compensation package will be based on experience.

Sr. Embedded Software Developer
OPPORTUNITY: We are searching for a Senior Embedded Software Developer with proven experience writing clean code for complex systems. This person will be responsible for a variety of software engineering life-cycle processes including requirements, design, code, test, and integration of real-time embedded software solutions for the company’s advanced machine condition monitoring product, Foresight MX.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the software engineering discipline, processes and tools. A candidate will be expected to facilitate the completion of software to specifications, within budget and time constraints. Projects require solid communication between development team and customers to develop, design, and deploy embedded sensor and controller firmware for Condition Monitoring. These software packages are deployed to rotating machinery in both industrial and aerospace applications.
Comprehensive knowledge of avionics and aviation technology is advantageous and will help with ramp-up time in the role.

LOCATIONS: This position will be based in Waterbury, VT.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and/or experience.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies. Proven ability to perform in all phases of the software engineering life cycle including requirements, design, code development, integration and test, and documentation.
- Experience in real-time, multi-threaded, embedded software with specific focus on software for distributed sensor applications.
- Experience in C, C++.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience developing software in a regulated industry, for example, experience with DO-178C.
- Some experience with Visual Studio/C# desktop application development for creation and maintenance of various tools used for both development and commissioning of fielded systems.
- Development experience utilizing BSPs/HALs and drivers for embedded devices.
- Experience with highly integrated, multi-function embedded microcontrollers. Experience with the Renesas™ RX family of processors is highly desirable.
- Experience with the Eclipse development environment with specific focus on the Renesas e2Studio IDE.
- Developing drivers for various digital interfaces used to communicate in embedded systems including, RS-232/422/485, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, etc.
- Experience with both “bare metal” development and Real-Time Operating System integration including FreeRTOS, Micrium uC/OS. Experience with the Micrium uC/OS driver architecture is highly desirable.
- Experience with software/hardware integration and the lab equipment used including oscilloscopes, signal generators, In-circuit emulators, etc.
