In the months after the Foresight MX HUMS kit was granted a Supplemental Type Certificate award on the AS350B3 (Airbus H125), we received lots of congratulations but also a repeated request: Can we enhance coverage of the Arriel 2B1 engine and its compressor?

Over the last year, our engineering and certification team has been adjusting the kit and software UI to deliver that coverage enhancement. We placed an additional High Speed Sensor (proprietary GPMS accelerometer with a computer processor inside) on the engine compressor and are now able to perform vibration trend monitoring on an additional 7 shafts, 7 bearings and 9 gears. Monitoring now includes the Starter-Generator, Engine Oil Pump and Alternator.

At the same time, our team decided to enhance the reliability of the onboard system, simplify the installation and reduced the part count. We used new twin pigtail sensors, removing H connectors to reduce points of failure and keep system weight low (important given the additional sensor).
